Babys Room

A colorful, layered canvas, textured painting for a precious friends nursery. the baby's due in another week and the room is a bright and color-filled place.
since July i just haven't painted much but am getting back into it. i have ideas bursting through my brain and can't wait to get started again. i want to challenge myself to do a painting a day again like when i started this blog. it's easier to say than to do. :)
another dear friend just gave me four canvas' so i am excited to begin on those too.
Thanksgiving time truly does make me reflect of the plethora of people and things i am so very thankful for... i am blessed and grateful.

another self portrait... i took a photo and put it on a painted board then used pen and ink and acrylic paint to enhance it... a fun and different kind of self portrait.
the actual size of the board is 12x12 and the picture is in the right 1/4 of bottom corner. this is a close up of the bottom half of the piece... i gave myself turquoise eyes and silver hair... artistic license...

Art Every Day-no more tears...

Another day, another self portrait...
a friend commented on this one saying that he sees peace and calmness of spirit in this one. i like that... many of my self portraits have had tears... i will publish some of those soon too.
this is done with pastels and watercolors... i have a series of faces in this same style. i love faces... faces are fun and interesting and everyone so different.

Is it just me or is it hard to part with art sometime?
i do find that i have new favorites as i paint and do not have room for them all so that helps.
todays painting is acrylic on wood... bright shades of greens and blues with splashes of other colors, three canvas boards lined up across the middle of the piece.
size is 33x24. i haven't named it yet... still thinking...
